Hello, Bluebird Families!
We had another great week of playing and learning together! It’s been so much fun watching sweet friendships form as we get to know each other more every day. on Tuesday, we celebrated J’s birthday with a Lego birthday ring! We also made him a birthday book.
Our studies this week focused on caterpillars and butterflies. We observed caterpillars munching and munching on milkweed for several days. We even got to watch as a caterpillar created its chrysalis. We had 3 beautiful monarch butterflies emerge. When we released them, we sang our “Garden Children” song to them, singing “Garden Butterfly.” These were such special moments between amazing people and incredible creatures. We made some beaded monarch caterpillars, which came home with your child on Friday. The children enjoyed creating the patterns on their caterpillars. We also did some watercolor paintings, which you can see on our bulletin board, and started making some colorful butterflies, which we will finish this week. We read some great butterfly books together, learning about the life cycle of the butterfly. We have two more chrysalises to keep our eyes on this week!
Thank you for sharing your children with me!
