Hello, Bluebird Families!
We had a great, short week together learning about apples! On Tuesday, we had an apple tasting. First, we all got to wash an apple. Then we tried Fuji, Stammard, and Granny Smith apples. We decided that we liked them all! While I cut up the apples, we learned about fractions and read the book, Apple Fractions. On Wednesday, we read How Does An Apple Tree Grow? On Thursday, we created some beautiful apple art! We cut out and glued each part of an apple together as we learned about the different parts of an apple. On Friday, we colored some apples that had beautiful patterns on them. Some of us really enjoyed planning out the intricate details and designs of these apples!
We enjoyed a lot of outside playtime this week, Some of us studied in a mud lab. Others of us gave muddy dinosaurs much-needed baths. We all worked together to build water features in the sandbox. There were waterfalls, lakes, rivers, and islands. I loved watching the children strategize about how to achieve their various goals, like containing the water, making the water deeper, and separating different areas of water. They used words like island, dam, bridge, and excavate.
We also enjoyed working on puzzles, playing trains, and reading I SPY books with a partner to find all of the objects in the pictures.
Thanks for sharing your children with me!
Anna
