Hello, Bluebird Families!
We enjoyed playing in snow on the playground most of this week! We continued exploring snowy topics. We read so many great snowy books, like When Winter Comes by Nancy Van Laan, The Biggest Snowman by Steven Kroll, Not a Buzz to be Found by Linda Glaser, Robert Frost’s Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, illustrated by Susan Jeffers. We listened to the Hot Chocolate Song and created a hot chocolate craft. The children each decorated their own paper mug and crumpled brown construction paper into the mug as the hot chocolate and added cotton balls for the marshmallows.
We also celebrated J’s 6th birthday! We sang happy birthday as he blew out the candles on his solar system birthday ring and made him a birthday book, each child creating one page and J creating the cover.
We have been reviewing letter names and sounds and will soon be putting sounds together to read words! We continue to learn about time, money, calendar, addition facts, and place value.
Thank you for sharing your children with me!
Anna
