All three classes at The Children’s Garden Primary school participated in NAEYC “Week of the Young Child.”
Monday: Make Music Together
Tuesday: Tasty Tuesday
Wednesday: Work Together
Thursday: Artsy Thursday
Friday: Family Day
Monday gave us an opportunity to add on and stretch out our “Week of Music.” We had a percussion band. Students can now write out their own rhythms for one another to play! We enjoyed moving and grooving to Ella Jenkins, a pioneer in Children’s Folk Music.
At Centers on Tuesday the children made fruit kabobs and Clayton read a book about eating healthy.
Wednesday’s theme was a big hit. We were so surprised how enthusiastic our Foxes were to work together. We sang a special “Work Together” song at circle time. Each center was specifically designed to encourage the kids to communicate and collaborate.
We are always painting, crafting, and coloring in the Friendly Fox classroom, but on Thursday we decided to paint on an easel. The kids liked working together so much the day before, their works ended up being collaborative.
At circle time on Friday we shared photographs of our families. We journaled about our Moms, Dads, and siblings during Centers.
