Didn’t this week feel like spring has finally arrived? I hope you got to see Mary’s lambs. There’s really nothing sweeter. This week Asher’s bringing baby ducks on Thursday. If you are a MWF kid you are welcome to join us on the playground at recess time around 11:15.
We did a little bee work this week, creating our bees for the covers of our bee books, and we investigated some spring plant parts on the light board. We dissected the leaves, seeds, and flowers encased in gelatin. We’ll definitely try this again. The Honeybees enjoyed this new sensory activity. Today we read A Seed is Sleepy and talked about planting some seeds to watch them germinate and to take home. We are going to grow milkweed because we want to support bee and butterfly habitats.
We have also been playing with dinosaurs and beginning to read dinosaur books. We’ll make some cretaceous flowers this week to start our dinosaur habitat in our classroom. If you have any great dinosaur books you are welcome to bring them in.
Would you save us some toilet paper and paper towel rolls for an art/STEM building project? I’m also looking for a set of magnetic ABCs if you have one to spare.
It is definitely sunscreen season. Our expectation is that you will sunscreen your kids in the morning. If you would like us to reapply, you may leave sunscreen with me and fill out our sunscreen form.
In more exciting baby animal news, our fertile hatching eggs should arrive by Friday. We’ll get them into the incubator and start our 21 day countdown. They will think it is FOREVER.
