Hi Honeybees. It’s Taco Tuesday again. Have you been doing the calendar at your house? It might feel a little harder to know what day it is when every day feels like a FAMILY DAY. (That’s what we call weekends when we do the calendar at circle time.)
Here’s a story for you this morning. I’m going to show you a preview and then the audiobook. The whole book is not here on the internet, but we can use our ears and our imaginations. We practiced this at school.
Here’s an Okee Dokee Brothers song usually learn at the end of the year. In years past we’ve even made cardboard canoes and acted out the story for our families on the last day of school. It’s always good for dancing and pretend paddles.
Here’s an Earth Day story for us today.
I love that they said take care of worms.
Would you like to go on an outside scavenger hunt? You can print this free scavenger hunt here. I liked this one because you could color the pictures. I might take a few sheets of paper and make this into a scavenger hunt book to encourage even more writing and drawing.
Would you like to make an Earth? This is a paper plate, or you could use recycled paper. I love the way your hands could hold the earth.
Mamas and Papas, I know these are sleepless days and nights, but tonight we can put that to use. Tonight and tomorrow night, the Lyrid meteor showers will be at their peak in the northeast. These shooting stars come around each April and are the remnants of the comet Thatcher. (Comet Thatcher’s most recent perihelion, or closest approach to the sun, was in 1861. It won’t be back until the year 2276.)

Honeybees, put your hands in the air and say it with me. Wherever you are we wish you well.
