Let’s build a fort.
It could be inside or outside, but since it’s raining today I’m thinking about inside. We are going to be here for a while so let’s go all the way.
You could get some boxes and start an epic box castle. Let’s add some twinkle lights and maybe a string of stars. Seriously, I think the kids could live in there. What do they want to bring inside? At school I put animals, a pile of library books, and clipboards with pencils.
When I was little my mom let us make the dining room table into a fort. with quilts and old tablecloths. There’s an alternate universe under there, and who among us doesn’t need some personal space these days.
Here’s a book about fort building.
Here’s another fort story that I love checking out from the library. It’s the Little Red Hen of fort stories with some sibling rivalry and a happy ending.
If you don’t have tent making supplies what about setting up a small.. or big tent…and draping it with pretty sheets or blankets. roll out the sleeping bags and fill it with pillows. Get out the camping lantern.

I like to think about rainbows on a rainy day. You could make this and add in your peg people for a fun playset. Add some little animals and see what happens. Add in writing tools or rainbow crayons, animal stampers, and a blank book.
Here’s my song today, continuing to make this EARTH WEEK.
You might know Jack Johnson from the Curious George movies.
I found one last story from me today. It’s about Honeybees, Earth Day, and Curious George.
Put your hands in the air Honeybees. Wherever you are we wish you well.
