Are we ready for one more day of travel before we say goodbye for the school year tomorrow? I’ve been thinking about where we should go. If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be? We’ve been at home so long that everyplace sounds wonderful. Should we just go to the beach?
We’ll have to make our own. Isn’t that the theme of the summer this year? This first activity requires playdough and seashells for a simple sensory/math/science exploration.

Beach sensory bins are always well loved if you have play sand or rice, sea creatures, and shells. Provide a graduated set of measuring cups and spoons. Or you could forget the sand and just make it in water.
Watch out for the jellyfish!!! All you really need is paper bags, paint, and scissors to make these playful jellyfish. Use your scissors to cut out so many tentacles.
Do you want to learn more about jellyfish?
What other things do you like to do at the beach? Are we going to need to get out your pool and all of your ocean animals from the bathtub?
The beach is a great place for bubbles. I really want to try this at a summer camp one day. Try a quart and a half of water, a cup of light corn syrup, and a cup of dish detergent.
Maybe you’d like to make those giant bubble sticks.
It’s time to go swimming. Does your family know this song?
Here’s a Pete the Cat story for you.
And Curious George
I’d love to teach you this song.
Tomorrow would be our play performance day, and I’m really sad we didn’t get our opportunity to do that together. Tomorrow we’ll just celebrate the beautiful year that we had.
Put your hands in the air Garden Children. Wherever you are we wish you well.
