It’s May 1, and traditionally a celebration of Spring. Dances, singing, and cake are traditionally part of the celebration. Would you like to make a May Day basket to share with someone you love? All you need is some thick paper and something to decorate it. I think I use Kroger paper bags for everything. You could pick buttercups and other flowers that are blooming outside right now. I’ll even show you how to make your own flowers.
Here are some flowers you could make from your handprint.
Or you could cut out some tulips.
Today we are going to talk about a very important part of the human body… our lungs. If we were together we’d probably start with some group deep breathing and then ask questions and wonder about how we breathe.
How can we add lungs to our human body model today? I love using bubble wrap each year in the classroom. I cut out ovals and let the kids paint it “lung colored” …whatever they think that might be. It’s often pink.
You could make paper bag lungs that your child could inflate and deflate for your model.

Here’s a lung model made with plastic bags, straws, and tape.
Would you like to do some Rainbow Breathing? It feels really good.
Would you like to breath and stretch with this little monkey?
Let’s definitely take some Alphabreaths today.
I wish we were having a dance party together. Could you have one with your family?
Garden Children put your hands in the air. Wherever you are we wish you well.
