Happy Monday Honeybees,
Show me what you did this weekend. It was so beautiful outside. I’m building a spiral shaped herb garden. Yes, spiral like Marie and Rosie. I still go to our classroom a few times a week to feed the fish, but I think they are going to go to Kiyah’s house until we come back to school. Her son Oliver would like to take care of them.
Lauren wanted to send you a story this morning.
Did you see the tadpoles that Josie found on a hike over the weekend? Can you see them?
This would be a great home project if you can find some. Lauren and I grew some in our classroom, and we learned so much. I’ve tried in still water unsuccessfully, but apparently the frogs do it so well in just a puddle. In the classroom we used a small fish tank with a filter and aerator. When we did it we were also hatching chicken eggs, and we were so surprised that the chickens hatched many weeks before we had actual frogs. Here’s some information you could use if you would like to take on this life cycle project.

Do you remember our song about frogs from two weeks ago. Let’s sing it again.
Frog and Toad stories are always a favorite in the Honeybee class.
Do you have any toy frogs in your house. Go find 5. Do you have a stick that your five frogs can sit on? Then you can play out this song. ( If you don’t there’s a link down below to print five frogs. Ask your honeybee what you could use for frogs. You could put eyes on five green Legos.)
Can we make some frog art? I bet you have some toilet paper tubes in your recycling.
If you want to cut out some frog puppets and attach to popsicle sticks…. Make a blue playdough pond to play out the five speckled frogs story. Use some real leaves for lily pads and some glass beads for frog eggs.

Thanks for the frog inspiration Josie. What else do you Honeybees want to think about this week? On Wednesday Lauren and I are going to bring you a little package. We are meeting in the late afternoon (safely and six feet apart) and bringing your art journals and some other fun things to your mailbox.
Here’s a recipe for the Honeybees today. I bet you could make this yourself.
Put your hands in the air Honeybees. Wherever you are we wish you well.
