Our Honeybees have been learning about the geography of the Arctic and Antarctica, the animals that live in the polar regions, and magnetism. The weather has certainly cooperated with our snowy adventures.
We have been reading Jan Brett books about the people and animals of the Arctic Circle, and the Honeybees have loved stories of polar bears, penguins, and moose. We’ve learned about how some animals prepare for hibernation if there is no food available for them during the winter.
I thought we were ready to move on to our next unit, but we want to talk about dog sledding and do some pretend dog sledding in our room or on the playground. Tomorrow we are going to talk about Alaska and learn this song.
We’ve looked at books about Antarctica and learned that scientific expeditions study the ice and animals of this most remote region.
We’ve certainly had our own tundra to play on.
Next the Honeybees would like to learn about kittens, cats, and cheetahs. After that we will start to to make our room into the solar system.
